Alabaster work
A medieval alabaster figure
- in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford
This broken C15 figure of Eve, some 13.2cm tall, comes from a panel depicting
the Harrowing of Hell, and was recovered from the churchyard at St John's about 1870.
An intact panel of this style survives in the V&A collections.

give some idea of how the C15 altarpiece at St John's would have appeared.
