During 'Open Doors' sessions the indices and finding aids for our old parish registers are also available for public access. Visitors who may wish to have access to original parish records are advised to contact us in advance of their visit. |
| Arrangements for Baptisms, Weddings etc can best be made during the monthly 'Open Doors' session on the second Saturday of each month between 10am and 12noon. Please note that new rules regarding marriage venues apply from 1st October 2008. |
Frome St John the BaptistThe Parish Church of St John the Baptist at Frome is of ancient foundation dating back to an original church founded by St Aldhelm about 685AD.It is now one of five parish churches within the Frome Local Ministry Group area in the Diocese of Bath & Wells , and is especially linked with the rural parish of St Katharine, East Woodlands, sharing the same Vicar. Main services:- Sunday: 8.00am - Holy Communion, 9.30am - Parish Communion Thursday: 10.30am - Holy Communion Additional services for major Festivals, Saints Days etc as announced in notices and magazine. Our annual well-dressing has been taking place on the Saturday nearest the feast of St Aldhelm (May 24th in 2008) since 1985.
